Our Mission
West Wins’ mission is simple but ultimately important. We are dedicated to electing Republicans who believe that we must stick to our fundamental principles of strong family values, fiscal responsibility and limited government. Those candidates must also uphold the best interests of Western North Carolina.
North Carolina is divided geographically into 3 parts: the Coastal Plain, the Piedmont, and the Mountains. Modern North Carolina can also be easily divided into the area east of I-95, the area between I-95 and I-77 and the area west of I-77. Unfortunately, North Carolina's controlling politicians do not realize that the state does not end at I-77. That's why West Wins is here!
We know that Western North Carolina must stand as high as our highest mountains to be noticed!
Western North Carolina's people are, by our very nature, independent. Many of us are descended from farmers, who were self-sufficient and fiercely independent. Western North Carolina's lore is loaded with tales of locals fighting off the "revenuers." others moved to this area to get away from the control of large city governments. Many others have retired here and appreciate the independence of the area.
West Wins knows that we can also unite to make sure our voices are heard! The I-95 to I-77 part of North Carolina has dominated politics for too long. And, we can't ignore the fact that NC Senate Pro Tempore for life, Marc Basnight, is from the very easternmost part of NC.
West Wins does not believe that government officials all must live in Western North Carolina or have been born here to serve Western North Carolina. However, we know that you have to listen to Western North Carolinians and not forget us after the election. We know that the paths to Raleigh and Washington run through the West!
